Organic Vegatables have NEVER been so much fun!!

By Suzi Franks

Do you have a problem getting your children to eat their 5 servings of vegatables a day??

If the answer is a resounding YES!! Then I have news for you!

How would purple or lime green cauliflowers do?

Or white, yellow, purple or red carrots?

Or purple and yellow beans?

Or lime green stripped Zucchini's?

Heirloom vegatables are the closest thing to the original cultivars and believe me they not only look sensational with their unchanged natural colours.

Their nutritional value is treble the goodness of commercially grown vegatables and if they are organically grown you can double that nutritional value again!!

And the great thing about heirloom vegatables they actually TASTE sensational.

A carrot tastes like a carrot and your kids will love taking white or purple carrot sticks to school I bet you!!

A former ER Nurse with over 15 years experience is now a healer of The Earth. I have now dedicated my life to tending my piece of paradise and returning the chemical torn landscape back to its former glory with lovingly applied organic principles and tender loving care. I am on a quest to help share my knowledge of organic vegetable growing, so you and others may feel the goodness of Mother Nature and eat her bountiful gifts.

Wow, who ever thought that boring white cauliflower was a better idea? How did that happen? Not to mention the antioxidants in purple food is much more powerful due to the anthocyanins than it would be in white food. It must be easy to get eat your '5 color groups' each day!

Thank you for the comment. The colour of heirloom vegetables must be based upon Mother Nature knows what is good for us!!

I just cannot believe we have let things come to the awful commercial vegetable offerings we see in the shops today.
I mean the Kitchen Garden was pivitol to every households survival years ago, and this is when the heirloom seeds were the only seeds to be found.

After tasting my vegetables I am astounded we traded taste for convienence:(
